Because 30 days is long.
And my attention span is short.
So I loooove reading (and writing), and not everyone does. I totally understand that, but, unlike many hobbies out there, reading and writing are quite different. Go on Google and read up on why reading is good for you. See what I did there?
I'm currently on a 21 and 30 day exercise challenge, I'm loving them, and they are what have given me inspiration for this post. A reading challenge! It's only 5 days long, so if you don't like reading, really it's only a week. It's simple and it's fun! This is not silly, I promise.
Day 1- Google why reading is good for you. Because I know you didn't do it when I said it the first time. Gather up some motivation and momentum.
Day 2- Read something. Anything, however long (or short, preferably long). Eg. A receipt, an email you didn't think was important, the description of a movie, a newsletter, lyrics. Perhaps a receipt is a tad silly.
Day 3- Read a newspaper, whether online, on tv or buy it. Read more than one article, and skim reading doesn't count.
Day 4- Search the internet and read up on anything that interests you. It doesn't even need to be serious. Read up on interesting facts, the weirdest people in the world, how to (insert whatever you wanna learn here).
Day 5- Get a novel and read it. One you've heard of and would like to read, or one you've started and would like to finish. I have plenty of those. This should keep you busy for many more days so I guess my blog title is a bit misleading.
Top tip: find the meaning of a word you don't understand as soon as you've read it, and try to use it in the next 24 hours, within the correct context, please.
Maybe you could do all this in one day. ;)
Let me know how it goes!
